The difference between bonding adhesive and water based or deck adhesive,

Bonding adhesive is stronger and used for bonding to most materials, it is applied to both the EPDM and surface being applied to,

It is used around the edges of EPDM, on any up stand, to brickwork / stone where an effective quick hold is required to keep the EPDM in position,

Water based deck adhesive is more suited to wood and ply adhesion on the main area of the deck,

The reason why water based deck adhesives are more commonly used than bonding adhesives is that water based adhesive simplifies the application of the EPDM membrane, which can be laid straight onto it whilst still wet,

This makes it easier to correct mistakes with the ability to lift and replace the membrane on up to 2 to 3 occasions,

Precautions:

  • Keep container closed when not in use,
